QuickTime is more than a simple video player. Also don”t know where I can get a copy of this ver of Quicktime Player. Tried to uninstall it but get a message that Quicktime is part of the OS, so I stopped. This Quicktime ver (10.3 I think) came with the OS. This is on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.9.5. I think it just got damaged or corrupt and needs to be reinstalled. This is NOT due to upgrades, it was working but overtime it started developing problems. Needless to say I can not play any videos. When trying to open, I get a “Problem Report QuickTime Player” with options “OK” and “Reopen”. My default Quicktime Player that comes with OS X 10.9.5 stopped working. Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.9) users should download QuickTime 7.6.Mac OS X Panther (10.3.9) users shall download QuickTime 7.5. If you want a good video player, Quicktime is perfect for your Mac.įor Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. H.264 is perfect for videos because it allows yout o have good quality videos with minor size.
It is available for Mac and Windows and it uses the H.264 video codec, used also by any MPEG-4 HD-DVD, Blu-ray and mobile phones to play videos. It is the official video player by Apple and it also works as audio player and image viewer.
